Whitewater Fish-a-ree set for Sunday

The Whitewater Lions and Lioness clubs will host the 40th Annual Fish-a-ree Sunday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Headquarters for the event will be the Lions Clubhouse near Whitewater Lake, west of Highway P at N7462 Kettle Moraine Dr.

A breakfast will be available from 6 a.m. to noon featuring: pancakes (all-you-can-eat), eggs, sausage, orange juice, milk and cheese-stuffed jalapeno peppers for $8 for adults.

Beginning at 10 a.m. lunch food will be available downstairs in the clubhouse – including chili, brats, hot dogs, coffee and beer will be available for purchase.

The fish weighing will take place beginning at 8 a.m. and go until 4 p.m. with hourly merchandise prizes awarded for the largest fish (northern, bass, walleye, crappie, perch and blue gill.) Grand prizes for the largest fish caught in those categories all day will be awarded at 4:30 p.m.

There will also be gift and other merchandise raffle prizes available. A cash raffle, giving out a total of $1,000 will include three prizes for $500, $250 and $250. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. The raffle drawing will take place at approximately 4:30 p.m. Winners need not be present.

The Whitewater Lions and Lioness clubs 2015-16 serving and giving list includes: Whitewater Food Pantry, WHS student scholarships, Meals-On-Wheels, vision screening for elementary students, glasses for students in the Whitewater Area School District, Whitewater Fire Department & Rescue Squad, Lauderdale-LaGrange Fire Department & Rescue Squad, City of Whitewater 4th of July parade, hearing conservation programs, recycled eyeglass program, Wisconsin School for the Blind, Wisconsin Lions Camp for blind, visually impaired, diabetic and mild cognitive disability children, Minneiska Ski Team of Whitewater Lake, Lions Club International, Bethel House, S.M.I.L.E.S., Blind Outdoor Leisure Development (BOLD), parade of checks – Wisconsin District 27-A1, Lakeland School of Walworth County, Wisconsin Eye Bank Transport duty and Christmas Tree sales.
