Former state representative is not judicial candidate

Many people have been asking me if I am running for Walworth County judge. You might have seen the “Wynn for judge” signs. The signs don’t have a first name, so I can understand the confusion.

Just to be clear Evan Wynn is not running for judge. I am supporting Daniel Johnson for judge. Why? Daniel Johnson, as the current Walworth County family court commissioner, is the only candidate with judicial experience and over 10 years of experience practicing law.

I have personally observed him treating everyone who comes into his courtroom fairly and respectfully. With each judicial decision he makes, he upholds the law and issues rulings that are both clear and concise. The other candidates can only tell you what they would do because they have no judicial experience.

Dan has been endorsed by local people in our community who are in a position to observe him and know he would make a great judge: Local law enforcement – retired Sheriff David Graves, chiefs Ray Clark, L. Steve Cole, Wolfgang Nitsch, Michael Rasmussen, and Chris Severt; municipal and county judges – Judge Robert Klabunde, retired Judge John R. Race and Judge Phillip Koss; Walworth County Clerk of Courts Sheila Reiff; former Walworth County district attorney employees – Crystal Zarnstorff, James Martin, Joshua Grube and Loretta Meinel; and local elected officials.

Dan displays the characteristics we want a judge to have – patience, open-mindedness, courtesy, tact, firmness, understanding, compassion and humility.

Evan Wynn
