Lake Geneva Middle School will host the Jazz Ambassadors at 7 p.m. Oct. 26.

The Jazz Ambassadors is the United States Army’s touring big band. Since 1967, this 19-member group has performed for audiences in all 50 states and in countries around the world.

The group plays a variety of music including big band, swing, standards, Dixieland, patriotic, Latin and bebop.  Music composed specifically for the group showcases the collective talent as well as soloists.

Lake Geneva has been visited a number of times by military bands. LGMS band director, Ray Ames, works hard behind the scenes to get this set up. Lake Geneva has been developing a good reputation as a concert site for the military bands, which will help in setting up future concerts.

The tickets to the concert are free and may be obtained by filling out a form at the LGMS office. Ticket holders should be seated by 6:40 p.m. that evening, the available seats will open to non-ticket holders at 6:45 p.m.
