Entering post-season, the Delavan-Darien High School boys’ soccer players knew they might face Elkhorn in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association regional final, and after losing to the Elks in the Southern Lakes Conference final, the Comets were ready.

But like just two weeks before, the Elks came out on top again, by a familiar 1-0 score, knocking the Comets out of the WIAA tournament.

Starting regional action the Comets hosted Janesville Craig and came out with the win by a lopsided 9-0 score.

It was a cold, rainy night in Elkhorn last Thursday and it was again a familiar defensive battle, with Elkhorn getting the lone goal in the first half.

The Comets gave it their all in the second half, controlling the ball most of the half on their side of the field, but were never able to tie things up and they went home with the 1-0 loss.
