Williams Bay girl swims in state competition

A Williams Bay girl was among three area swimmers from the Lake Geneva Swim Club to compete in the 2015 12 and Under Wisconsin USA Swimming State Meet July 24-26 at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer.

Lauren O’Brien, from Williams Bay, qualified and competed in three events at the state meet. O’Brien finished 35th in the 100 Meter Breast (1:31.95), 42nd in the 200 Meter IM (2:56.06), and 48th in the 100 Meter Fly (1:22.11)

Willy Pinnow, from Elkhorn, won the 400 Meter Freestyle event on Friday, with at time of 5:53.53. He also placed third in the 200 Meter Free (2:20.15), fifth in the 200 Meter Back (2:40.43), seventh in the 100 Meter Back (1:13.58), 12th in the 100 Meter Free (1:05:66), and 16th in the 50 Meter Back (36.39).

Pinnow dropped time in all the events he swam and ended up 12th in the state for overall points at the state meet, earning 68 points.

Nathaniel Rafe, from Lake Geneva, also dropped time in all his events in the 10 and Under division, earning 16 points. Rafe placed 10th in the 100 Breast (1:40.08), 11th in the 50 Meter Breast (46.02), 14th in the 100 Meter Fly (1:36.17), 17th in the 200 Meter IM (3:18.68), 26th in the 50 Meter Free (35.79), and 28th in the 100 Meter Free (1:21.22).
