Two area men are facing methamphetamine-related charges after police executed a search warrant on July 10 at the one’s Town of Sugar Creek residence.

George M. Capriotti, 38 of 614 N. Lincoln St., Elkhorn, has been charged with four Class F felony counts of delivery of methamphetamine, 3 grams or less, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Jonathan R. Krubert, 39, of W5167 Wandawega Dr., Sugar Creek, has been charged with one Class I felony count each for maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of methamphetamine, and one misdemeanor count each for possession of THC and drug paraphernalia, a total of four counts.

According to the criminal complaint, Capriotti allegedly sold to a Walworth County Sheriff’s Department confidential informant during controlled purchases on four separate occasions on May 27, June 1, June 24 and June 20 at Krubert’s residence in Sugar Creek Township. The criminal complaint states Capriotti allegedly sold the informant 1.25 grams over the course of the four controlled purchases at a total cost of $390.

Walworth County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant on July 10 at Krubert’s residence, according to the complaint, and found numerous broken light bulbs in a bedroom, which deputies believe to be commonly used to ingest crystal meth based on training and experience.

According to the criminal complaint, in a search of Krubert’s bedroom, police also found a small container of a white, crystalline substance, which later tested positive as meth, several glass smoking pipes and two mason jars of marijuana.

The complaint states that Krubert told police the meth was given to him as payment for rent.

The four felony charges against Capriotti carry a maximum penalty of 12 years, 6 months in jail, and a $25,000 fine, for each count. The two felony charges against Krubert carry a maximum penalty of 3 years, 6 months in jail, and a $10,000 fine, for each count. Krubert also faces 6 months and a $1,000 fine for his possession of THC charge. Both face a maximum penalty of 30 days and a $500 fine for the possession of drug paraphernalia charges.

Both Capriotti and Krubert are next set to appear in Walworth County Circuit Court at 2 p.m. on July 27 for a preliminary hearing.
