JACK F. DUNHAM

Jack Forrest Dunham, 71, of Troy Center, died July 19, 2015 at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Elkhorn on Oct. 28, 1943, to the late Joseph and Virginia (Himebauch) Dunham.

He graduated from East Troy High School in 1962 and joined the U.S. Army 41st Infantry Division Airborne where he was a paratrooper.

He worked for the Town of Troy doing highway maintenance until his retirement in 1996 and was a lifelong member of the Troy Center Volunteer Fire Department.

He married Patsy (Hope) on July 1, 1995, at the Millard Community Church.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed doing wood carving and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his creativity in finding ways to make things easier for everyone.

Survivors include his wife; son, Joe; grandsons, Tim and Jed; great-grandchildren, Blaine and Dakota; sister, Dawn (Rock) Hardin; aunt, June Jacobs; niece, Karin Rajnicek and her family; and other relatives and his many dear friends of Troy Center.

He was further preceded in death by his son, Matthew, and brothers, Ron and Ted.

A celebration of his life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, at W6877 Taylor Road, Elkhorn (Sugar Creek township).

His family would like to extend a special thank you to Steve Hughes for being such a wonderful neighbor and taking care of Bud and Patsy.
