Dontaions sought for memorial bench

Bench to honor late Walworth schools District Administrator

The Pam Knorr Memorial Committee is seeking donations to help fund an outdoor memorial bench and commemorative plaque in honor of the late Walworth Joint School District 1 Administrator Pam Knorr.

Knorr served as the district’s administrator, which encompasses Walworth middle and elementary schools, from 1994 to 2014. Knorr resigned from the position in 2013 because of medical reasons.

Knorr died at the age of 58 last November after battling ALS and Pick’s Disease, a form of dementia.

The committee aims to place the memorial bench on Fremont Street, where it will be visible to students, parents and members of the community.

Gerdes Nursery of Harvard, Ill., has donated a tri-colored birch tree, according to a press release from the committee, which will be planted alongside the bench. Additionally, a special plaque will welcome students to the school library, which the release said will be known as the Pam Knorr Memorial Library in the future.

A dedication ceremony is planned for the end of the school year, with more information on the event planned to be released in the near future.

Those wishing to donate to the fund can send checks payable to: Walworth School District, 121 Beloit St., Walworth, WI 53184. The committee asks donors note the Pam Knorr Memorial on the front of the check.

For further information, call the school at (262) 275-6896.
