Packers Tailgate Tour stops in Elkhorn

Area residents get chance to rub shoulders with Packers players, past and present

Packers fans from southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois flocked to Elkhorn Area Middle School last Friday to rub shoulders with Packers players past and present came to Elkhorn to raise money for VIP Services as part of the Packers organization’s 10th Anniversary Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour.

The Tailgate Tour travels around the state each year, giving past and present Packers players an opportunity to thank and give back to the fans that have supported them over the years. As examples, this year, players talked to students about respect for self and others, the effects of social media bullying and assisted with a home renovation in Sun Prairie.

Each year, players from current and past teams join Green Bay Packers CEO and President Mark Murphy on the tour. This year, current players invited to join the tour included Andrew Quarless, Micah Hyde and Casey Hayward. The three were joined by Packers alumni Gilbert Brown, Bill Schroeder and Antonio Freeman, and special alumni for the 10th anniversary, Jerry Kramer and Dave Robinson, who both played under legendary coach Vince Lombardi in the first two Superbowls.
