The Walworth County Public Works Department announced that Highway J will be officially closed for the Lake Beulah Dam Replacement Project starting tomorrow, April 14. Work on the dam replacement project is expected to be completed in August.
A press release from Walworth County suggested motorists traveling east on Highway J to Mukwonago from the Whitewater and LaGrange areas could take Highway 20 to Interstate 43 instead of the posted detour. The release also said westbound motorists on Highway J should also consider using Highway 20 and other alternative routes.
