ROBERT A. SPANGLER

Bob Spangler     Robert “Bob” Alan Spangler, 64, of Church Street Elkhorn, died on March 24, 2015, at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.

He was born Dec. 16, 1950, in Eau Claire, the son of Phyllis Theresa (Sperstad) and the late Robert Leon Spangler. He graduated from Elkhorn High School with the Class of 1969. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout and Arizona State University. Bob was united in marriage to Jerilyn “Jeri” Glee Bray on July 4, 1979, in Elkhorn. Bob worked in construction as a finishing carpenter and general contractor all of his life, retiring in 2012 due to ill health.

He taught basic carpentry at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha. He was known for his unique sense of humor, his compassion for others and his innate instinct for ingenuity. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jeri; four children, Tai Starr Spangler, of Lake Geneva, Brolyn Bray Spangler, of Auburn, Ind., Tatum Rae (Michael) Wetzel and Cabren Alan (fiancée: Jenna Houdek) Spangler, of Salt Lake City; his mother, Phyllis Spangler; and his sister, Marcy Spangler, both of Janesville, and by a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, W4615 Potter Road Elkhorn. Burial will be at White Oak Cemetery in the Town of LaFayette. Visitation will be at the church from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m.
