Highway J in the Town of East Troy will be closed for several months beginning April 13 while the Lake Beulah Dam spillway is replaced.
The contractor for the project, Terra Engineering and Construction, expects the highway to be closed until the project is complete in mid-August.
A press release form Walworth County suggested motorists traveling east on Highway J to Mukwonago from the Whitewater and LaGrange areas could take Highway 20 to Interstate 43 instead of the posted detour. The release also said westbound motorists on Highway J should also consider using Highway 20 and other alternative routes.
