Local woman dies in fatal crash

A crash in the Town of Palmyra last Wednesday night claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman from Eagle when the car she was driving struck a tree

Brittany M. Ewaskowitz, of Eagle and formerly of East Troy, was fatally injured as a result of the crash, which occurred on County Highway E less than a mile north of Island Road in the Town of Palmyra.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call for a one-vehicle crash at 11:30 p.m., March 18.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Ewaskowitz was driving a 2010 Pontiac G6 south on Highway E when the vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a tree in the ditch. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, deputies reported.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral and Cremation Services, 930 Main St., Mukwonago. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
