Inspiration Ministries teaming up with Bayside Athletics

Bayside Athletics is now partnering with Inspiration Ministries to offer cheerleading and tumbling to special needs athletes.

In January, Inspiration Ministries combined both resale stores into a single location leaving one of the stores available for future planning, according to press a release from Sara Nolte, Inspiration Ministries online community manager.

“Even before all the furniture was moved to the other store, plans began to tumble into place for these two local nonprofits to team up,” the release said.

Jessica Viss, founder and head coach, said Bayside Athletics is the organization she has always dreamed of.

Viss lived in Lake Geneva before her family moved to the west coast. The release said Pop Warner Cheerleading provided an avenue to promote her passion for the sport of cheerleading and later became a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers.

Now, Viss said her mission is to develop young athletes spiritually, mentally, and physically through the mediums of cheerleading and tumbling.

Bayside Athletics also offers cheerleading and tumbling programs to special needs athletes. The release said they recently began the process of becoming a Special Olympics facility for gymnastics – floor routine and tumbling for men and women.

“We will be fully ready for the 2016 Special Olympic season,” Viss said.

According to the release, several Inspiration Ministries’ residents are already involved in Special Olympics Wisconsin and are excited about the opportunity to be a jump above the rest in another sport.

Along with Special Olympics, Inspiration Ministries will be working side by side with Bayside to develop special camps for children and adults utilizing the camp and retreat center on their campus.

“We are so excited about every opportunity Jessica and Bayside will bring to Inspiration,” Nolte said.

“The residents here are extremely excited about the new addition to our family and can’t wait to see what the future has in store.”

The release said Bayside students began their first session at Inspiration Ministries on March 2, with “excitement was oozing out from everyone.”

“The parents and kids loved it,” Viss said.

“One of the kids (and mom) made a congratulation card and gift. They said they have been praying for Bayside. It was a truly amazing afternoon!”

According to the release, Bayside Athletics has planned an open house from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at the new location. In addition, Bayside Athletics will be hosting an open gym from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, April 10. Their new location, Inspiration Ministries, is at the corner of highway F and 67, between Williams Bay and Fontana.
