Police on the hunt for Illinois man suspected of battery

Police are searching for a 45-year-old Harvard, Ill. man who is suspected of beating his estranged wife early Monday morning.

According to a press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, police are searching for Jose Enriquez-Hernandez and are in the process of seeking an arrest warrant for two counts of aggravated domestic battery and two counts of aggravated kidnapping.

According to a report from the Harvard Police Department, on Monday, police were called to a Harvard residence on Northfield Court at about 1 a.m. per request from the Walworth Police Department.

The Walworth Police Department previously responded to a residence on Williams Street in the Village of Walworth at 12:24 a.m., for a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway.

According to the report, a 39-year-old Harvard woman was found alone in a vehicle nearby with injuries and was subsequently transported to an unnamed medical facility for treatment.

Police determined the abused woman had last been with Enriquez-Hernandez, who is suspected of assaulting and beating her at a 506 E. Blackman St. home in Harvard.

It is believed that Enriquez-Hernandez later drove her to the Williams Street residence in Walworth, where she was later discovered inside the car.

Police are actively searching for Enriquez-Hernandez who may be in possession of a knife and should be considered armed and dangerous.
