Girls finish ninth at sectional, boys come in 13th

The 2014 cross country season came to an end Saturday for the East Troy High School boys and girls squads.

East Troy’s girls finished ninth, while the boys were 13th, at a Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 sectional at Pewaukee.

Pewaukee won the girls’ sectional team title with 85 points, followed by Deerfield-Cambridge with 96, Jefferson with 118, Whitewater with 122 and Catholic Memorial with 143. East Troy finished with 239 points.

Leading the Trojans was senior Erin Parr, 25th in 22:06, followed by sophomore Maddie Rosin, 26th in 22:08.

Other top efforts were recorded by freshman Kelly Flynn, 53rd (23:22); senior Charlotte Plehn, 61st (24:03); sophomore Emerson Dignan, 74th (24:41); senior Sarah Vivian, 79th (25:20); and sophomore Heather Vivian, 80th (25:28).

Pewaukee also won the boys’ team title with 49 points, followed by Catholic Memorial with 74, Deerfield-Cambridge with 83, Jefferson with 92 and Watertown Luther Prep with 141.

East Troy had 347 points.

Senior Brody Kazik led the way in 46th (19:27), followed by sophomore Nathan Dallas, 71st (20:20); senior Tyler Fridley, 74th (20:51); junior Sam Foley, 77th (21:05); sophomore Kelcye Demara, 79th (21:20); sophomore Allen Herrell, 85th (21:52); and junior Clark Hudec, 90th (23:28).
