Waterford locks share of SLC title

The Delavan-Darien High School football team was dealt a 28-0 loss to Waterford last Friday night, with the Wolverines locking up a share of the Southern Lakes Conference title with the win.

The Comets finish 4-5 overall and 2-5 in the conference.

The Wolverines overpowered the Comet offense and defense. The offense finished with only 99 yards.

Quarterback Jesse Collins, who played with a hip injury, completed only eight passes on 20 attempts for 84 yards.

Fabias Shipman had 29 yards rushing, and Jake Benzing added 62 receiving yards.

Ethan Cesarz led the defense with 10 tackles, and Ricardo Cruz added eight.

Quincy Perry and Rodney Nash both finished with 6 1/2 tackles.
