With the regular-season quickly winding down, the Big Foot High School girls volleyball team is right in the thick of the Rock Valley Conference race.

A victory last week over the RVC leader certainly didn’t hurt the Chiefs’ chances.

Big Foot pulled out a hard-fought 26-24, 25-3, 22-25, 25-19 win over previously unbeaten Brodhead-Juda to improve to 6-1 in the RVC and 10-20-1 overall.

Heading into action this week, the Chiefs were a full game ahead of Brodhead in the RVC standings. Big Foot traveled to Clinton Tuesday night and hosted Parkview Thursday in a pair of critical conference matchups.

Statistical leaders for Big Foot in the win over Brodhead were Ally Mazur with 37 assists, 21 digs and 5.5 blocks; Samara Enz with 16 kills and six aces; and Rachel Heidenreich with 14 kills.

Following the two RVC matchups this week, the Chiefs will travel to the Westosha Central Invitational Saturday. Several of the state’s top team are expected to compete.

Big Foot closes out its conference schedule next Tuesday, Oct. 14, when it travels to Parkview. The RVC Tournament will be held at Edgerton Saturday, Oct. 18.
