Body discovered in Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy

timthumbThe body of a man was located in the Kishwauketoe Nature Conservancy off of Harris Road in Williams Bay at about noon today, according to press release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the release, a few volunteer searchers went out looking this morning for Brian Bates from Williams Bay, who has been missing since Aug. 24.

At about 11:30 a.m., the volunteer searchers contacted the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and informed deputies a makeshift campsite was located off of Harris Road. Shortly after the arrival of deputies, the man’s body was located near the campsite.

The body has not been identified, and pending autopsy results, the cause of death is unknown.

The family of Brian Bates has been notified of the discovery of a deceased male, but positive identification has not been made.

The investigation is ongoing, as is the missing person case regarding Brian Bates until positive identification can be made.
